1. Payments & Earnings
When will I get paid?
Google AdSense pays on a monthly cycle. If you have met the payment threshold by the end of the month, your payment is processed between the 21st and the 26th of the following month. For example, earnings from January are paid in late February.
What is the payment threshold?
For most countries (including USA and India), the minimum threshold is $100. You must earn at least this amount before Google will issue a payment. If you earn $90, it rolls over to the next month.
What are the payment methods?
Depending on your country, payment options include Wire Transfer (Bank Transfer), Check, EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), and sometimes Western Union (though this is being phased out in many regions).
2. PIN Verification
What is the AdSense PIN?
The AdSense Personal Identification Number (PIN) is a 6-digit code that Google mails to your physical address to verify that you live there. This is a mandatory step before you can receive payments.
When will I get my PIN?
Google automatically mails the PIN once your account balance reaches the verification threshold (usually $10). It typically takes 2-4 weeks to arrive by standard mail.
What if my PIN never arrives?
If you don't receive your PIN after 4 weeks, you can request a replacement PIN from your AdSense dashboard. You can request a replacement up to 3 times. If it still doesn't arrive, you may be able to verify using official documents (ID card, bank statement).
3. Approval Process
How long does the review take?
It varies. Some sites are approved in 24 hours, while others take up to 2 weeks. If your site is stuck in "Getting Ready" for more than 2 weeks, there may be a quality issue or a technical glitch preventing the review.
Can I apply with a free domain (e.g., .blogspot or .wordpress)?
Yes, but it is much harder. Google prefers custom domains (like .com, .net, .org). Having a professional domain shows you are serious about your business.
Do I need 1,000 visitors to get approved?
No. AdSense does not have a specific traffic minimum for approval. However, having consistent traffic helps the reviewer see how users interact with your site. Applying with zero traffic is risky because it looks like a "ghost town."
4. Troubleshooting Issues
Why are blank spaces showing instead of ads?
This can happen for a few reasons:
- Your account is not fully approved yet.
- There are no advertisers bidding for your specific content niche.
- You have been hit with an "Ad Limit" due to invalid traffic concerns.
What does "Ad serving limit" mean?
This is a temporary penalty. Google limits the number of ads shown on your site while they assess your traffic quality. It usually happens if you have a sudden spike in bot traffic or low-quality social media traffic. It typically resolves in 14-30 days if the traffic quality improves.
5. Policy & Bans
Can I click my own ads?
Absolutely not. Clicking your own ads is the fastest way to get permanently banned. Google's algorithms are extremely smart and will detect self-clicking immediately.
What happens if I get banned?
If your account is disabled for invalid activity, you will lose any unpaid earnings. You can submit an appeal form, but the success rate is very low. Once banned, you are generally not allowed to open another AdSense account for life.
Can I use AdSense with other ad networks?
Yes! AdSense is non-exclusive. You can run AdSense alongside Media.net, Ezoic, or other affiliate banners, provided the page is not cluttered with more ads than content.
